Free Fall Raking 2024

Our high school volunteer group organized a free leaf-raking program in Fall 2024 to assist Holliston's senior community. We visited houses all around town over several weekends to assist with seasonal yardwork; no cost, no catch, just neighbors helping neighbors. The event was a fantastic way to demonstrate how small acts of service can foster relationships between generations. This project gave our volunteers a significant means of interacting with the community and helping local seniors with a physically demanding chore. Many participants said how much they appreciated the conversations they had with the students, as well as the assistance. For our team, it was a reminder that sometimes simply showing up with a willingness to help will make someone's day better.
